Green Lifestyle Not Expensive
No need to be expensive to build environmentally friendly homes. No need sophisticated technology applications that are also expensive. All can be started from a simple thing, really.
Most of us would feel the temperature change in recent years. Earth’s surface temperature hotter it feels. Apparently this has to do with global warming, which result in climate change uncertain.
Based on WWF study, this temperature increase has a maximum threshold, up to two degrees Celsius. Until now, since 1992, an increase in global temperature has reached a degree. Imagine, perhaps five to ten years, the earth becomes hotter.
The increase in temperature of one to two degrees may seem insignificant, but we already feel themselves alone in everyday life. A walk outside in the morning at 10.00, it was very hot. Climate change is just one of those bad consequences of global warming. We certainly do not want this to continue. We might have to migrate from Planet Earth.
The issue of global warming, might begin to seem boring. Unfortunately, the effect is not bored to keep beating this Earth. Developed countries vying to create technology that can save energy and water usage. Starting from electricity generation solar cell, solar-powered vehicle, until the tap water that has water-saving sensors. He said, technologies are held to allow people to keep their environment.
In developed countries where the population has high purchasing power, this advanced technology may not be too difficult to obtain. Another case with the developing countries like Indonesia. Such technology, most likely seen or applied in gendung-office building. For residential, would still seemed impossible. The reason, a large number of devices using a very expensive valuable. The fact above can make some people are pessimistic about the effort to protect the environment. However, we do not get pessimistic.
Some time ago I listened to a presentation about the lifestyle “green”, presented by interior designer and chairman of the Green Building Council of Indonesia (GBCI), Naning Adiwoso. The contents of his presentation interesting enough, maybe we can be inspired to participate protecting the environment. Through the presentation, I was reminded again, that the eco-friendly lifestyle is not expensive. So far, we just focus on the technologies of energy-saving versatile. And whose name is not energy efficient depends on the technology, but on the individual.
Awareness for environmental friendly.
To be green, all can be started from the smallest scope. Turn off lights and electronic equipment, when not in use. Close the water tap so been used. Not too often use private vehicles to travel. All that can be done without expensive technology.
Naning give examples of life in the village. Traditional lifestyle there, it is a good role model for environmentally friendly living. Villagers rarely use motor vehicles to travel. They prefer to use a bicycle, or even on foot.
Ngaak just that. In the village, the concept of home design may be still somewhat environmentally friendly. Most houses there an easy to use renewable materials. For example bamboo. Many house using bamboo as a building framework, walls, and roofs. Bamboo and building materials are taken from a location not far from home. So do not contribute to energy waste and pollution and also contributed to Earth’s rising temperatures. Without using any AC, the houses in this country was cool. This is partly because the design of the building is relatively friendly to the surrounding environment. Another thing, almost every inch of land in the countryside still tertanami plants, either trees or shrubs. These plants also play an important role to cool the Earth.
Pretty simple is not it? To cope with global warming, does not need a lot of cost. The important thing, we started to be friendly to the environment. From now on, no more Sepelekan single lights, a leaky faucet, or one liter of gasoline consumed in a day. We may be able to pay financially, but we will not be able to pay for the effects of this energy waste, in the future.
